FOSTERED. LOCKED AWAY. FORGOTTEN? 2025–2028

National Travelling Exhibition

The national travelling exhibition FOSTERED. LOCKED AWAY. FORGOTTEN? examines the Swiss history of coercive welfare measures, their reappraisal, and brings this story to all regions of the country. The exhibition design prioritises maximum modularity without compromising on atmospheric quality.
The archive memorial is a documentary space for narrative and experience. At its heart stands a memorial constructed from a thousand drawers, each representing the hundreds of thousands of people affected by coercive welfare measures in Switzerland.
The exhibition consists of modular elements that can be assembled and dismantled within a short time and transported compactly. Modularity, combined with detailed logistics and installation planning, was essential to the success of the project.
